报告摘要:Multi-agent systems have received significant attention due to the advances in computation, communication, storage, sensing, control, and actuation and their potential applications in civilian, military and homeland security sectors. Multi-agent systems pose significant theoretical and practical challenges due to the coupling between computational and physical resources and the interaction through networks. The critical factors for enabling multi-agent systems include low cost, high adaptivity and scalability, great robustness, and easy maintenance. These critical factors favor distributed solutions over centralized solutions. Distributed coordination, where multiple agents collectively achieve objectives in the presence of only local information and local interaction between neighbors, is hence of great significance in multi-agent systems.
The purpose of this talk is to overview our recent research in distributed coordination of multi-agent systems. Theoretical results on distributed leaderless consensus, distributed single-leader collective tracking with reduced interaction and partial measurements, distributed multi-leader herding control with local interaction, distributed average tracking with multiple time-varying reference signals, and distributed optimization with local information will be introduced. Application examples in multi-vehicle cooperative control will also be introduced.
