Abstract: A framework to establish input-to-state stability (ISS) of nonlinear dynamical systems, which possess multiple invariant solutions (equilibria, limit cycles, etc.), is introduced. First, an extension of the conventional Lyapunov theory is given. Second, for state-periodic systems the conditions are relaxed and formulated via a sign-indefinite function with sign-definite derivative. The new result is established by using the framework of Leonov's cell structure.
