报告简介:Formation shape control is the task of moving a group of physical agents in two- or three-dimensional space to take up a prescribed formation shape. The orientation of the formation and the location of the formation centroid are generally irrelevant, or separately controlled. Approaches to this problem flowing from the control of inter-agent distances, bringing them from arbitrary values at time zero to prescribed design values, have some advantages, but also the disadvantage that triangles can be flipped, and sometimes there can be multiple noncongruent but rigid formations achieving the correct distances.
In this talk we discuss how the use of triangle areas in addition to distances can eliminate these ambiguities, ensuring convergence to a formation congruent to and constituting an unreflected copy of the desired or prescribed formation.
In the first instance, the results are achieved for a single triangle and then a double triangle. Partial results are then obtained for larger formations made up of a collection of triangles.

报告人简介:Brian D.O. Anderson教授是澳大利亚科学院院士、澳大利亚工程院院士、英国皇家学会会士、美国工程院外籍院士、IEEE Life Fellow、IFAC Fellow,现为澳大利亚国立大学荣休教授、澳大利亚国家信息通信技术研究院杰出研究员、杭州电子科技大学杰出教授。Anderson教授也是一位杰出的教学、科学研究组织者和领导者。他是澳大利亚国立大学工程学院的首位教授和首位系主任,也是澳洲国家信息通信技术研究院的创建CEO,并一直担任澳大利亚科学技术委员会委员、澳大利亚总理科学顾问等职务。曾任国际自动控制联合会(IFAC)主席、澳大利亚科学院院长,获得过澳大利亚政府和国际学术组织的许多奖励。他长期致力于信号、系统与控制领域的研究,在电路、信号处理与控制领域作出杰出贡献,已出版著作10本,发表学术论文800多篇,是信号、系统与控制领域国际公认的领军人物之一。
