High frequency oscillations (HFO) between 80 to 500 Hz are highly valued as a promising clinical biomarker for epilepsy. Due to the low amplitude and short duration of these events, visual identification of HFO transients is extremely cumbersome, which has limited the utilization of HFOs as indicators to seizure onset zone (SOZ) in clinical practice. The current project aims at the investigation of neural-biomarkers in patients with refractory epilepsy, for the purpose of accurate SOZ identification and assisting in surgical planning, with a main focus of the characterization and detection of HFOs in continuous human iEEG recordings.
个人简介:
刘苏:本科就读于北京首都医科大学生物医学工程学院,于2011年免试录取攻读同专业硕士学位,并于2014年进入休斯顿大学攻读PhD学位,主修临床神经工程及生物医学信号处理方向。主要致力于可应用于临床癫痫病灶定位的神经生物标记物的自动检测和研究,所取得成果已发表于神经工程及癫痫领域高影响力杂志和多项重要国际会议。
